I designed music therapy goals and interventions targeting communication skills, emotional self-regulation and expression, and executive functioning skills. Some examples of interventions that I Implemented included music improvisation, songwriting, instrument playing, movement to music, and lyric analysis, tailored to fit each client’s needs. I also attended quarterly meetings, conducted assessments, documented client progress daily, wrote treatment plans and quarterly reports for 8 individual clients with diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and selective mutism.

Developed and executed leisure programs for 75 residents in an independent living community, an assisted living facility, and the memory care unit. I designed and facilitated multicultural and music-based lectures, as well as biweekly book club meetings. I established 2 vocal ensembles with 17 total participants, and conducted two public performances. Finally, implemented music therapy groups for 35 assisted living and memory care residents to maintain quality of life and stimulate creative expression.

Special Education Assistant

I worked with staff members at a state day center to implement daily programs for beneficiaries with various physical and intellectual disabilities to improve motor skills, coordination, socialization, decision-making and communication skills. I organized a community concert performance with the beneficiaries from the Day Center in collaboration with the local Lion’s Club, including 30 participants and 100 attendees. I also networked and established ongoing collaborations with the local Red Cross and Lion's Club to conduct community-based activities among youth volunteers and the beneficiaries. While living in North Macedonia, I achieved proficiency level of Advanced-Mid in the Macedonian language.

I completed over 1000 hours of clinical training as a music therapy intern over the course of 6 months. I lead individual and group sessions, co-lead a relaxation group and choir rehearsals each week, and documented daily progress notes, one formal assessment report, annual reports, and monthly reports for individuals on my caseload. I also designed interventions to work on goals involving motor control, decision-making, social-relational skills, cognitive abilities, and multisensory stimulation.Populations I worked with included: children and adults with complex medical diagnoses, physical and/or intellectual disabilities, including but not limited to: Cerebral Palsy, Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Seizure Disorder, Angelman Syndrome, and Phelan-Mcdermid Syndrome.
