Bio
A. Grant Nordby
I was part of the group that recruited Alaa directly out of grad school. Previously, I’d reviewed her design work in a comprehensive studio; her work and presentation were excellent. What impressed me then still does today: her design work was outstanding and her poise in meeting new people and tackling new challenges was exceptional. These are rare and valuable attributes! She has continued to accept challenges with courage and good sense, developing new skills and expanding existing ones. Some of those skills: She possesses keen design insight and visualization ability. She understands others’ intent quickly and wastes no time in execution. She is a capable communicator and valuable team member. She enthusiastically tackles new obstacles and has made great strides toward licensure. Her drive and determination inspire others. Alaa is one individual I have no difficulty visualizing as a very successful senior architect in the not-too-distant future. Perhaps I will someday be asking her for a job! I would not hesitate for even a moment to recommend her for employment. She would be an asset to any design firm.
