The role is extremely varied with a great focus on ensuring works on site are progressing within the given timescale and highlighting any issues to ensure they can be attended to promptly to avoid any unnecessary delays. A good working relationship with Loss adjustors, contractors and policy holders / homeowners is essential. Within this role I work closely with Sergon surveyors as a main point of support. My main duties are to carry out numerous site visits to report back on progress of works on many types of insurance claims ranging from fire, flood, escape of water and impact. More recently I have been involved in site visits from the initial stages, assisting with site plans, condition surveying, obtaining information regarding required repairs following various different perils and using the gathered information to produce work schedules and initial advice reports. Further to this I have been regularly involved in carrying out pre contract meetings, practical completion visits and end of defects period meetings. Show less

The role was very customer focused needing an eye for detail, organisational and communication skills along with an empathetic and caring approach towards customers. The role involved making appointments for Surveyors visits to policy holders to validate building insurance claims, assisting customers with enquiries with ongoing claims and obtaining updates from Surveyors when more technical information is required, Assisting Surveyors with completion of reports and raising of payments and the overview of their day to day diary making sure they are in the right place at the right time. Working well under pressure and to tight time scales was essential. Show less

I was involved in several different roles within Zurich starting as a Third Party motor damage claims handler. The role involved processing new claims, settling claims, making proactive phone calls to customers and third parties, taking phone calls on existing claims, speaking to other insurers, brokers and solicitors with regards to incident circumstances and settlements. I was fortunate enough to be involved in providing assistance with Zurich’s off shoring process of new claims which gave me the opportunity of a 6 week secondment in India as support for the go live of this process. This not only provided me with a great challenge but was an invaluable experience. I went on to dealing with stage 1 MOJ claims which again involved investigating circumstances, making decisions on whether claims were to be dealt with within the MOJ process and to be passed on to stage 2 handlers or to be removed from the process and dealt with by the Motor Personal Injury Team. This role helped me directly progress to the Motor personal injury team where I handled Stage 2 MOJ claims and inherited an existing portfolio of injury claims. I had a very successful involvement in helping with the investigation of potentially fraudulent claims and made some very significant savings which helped towards yearly targets. The roles were very mentally demanding with a big emphasis on investigation and giving a high quality of customer service to our clients and treating each third party as equals whilst working closely to adhere to FSA regulations.
