Maintenance/Field Engineer: I work as a Maintenance/Field Engineer (hands-on) in a Hydraulic WorkOver Rig. Plan and undertake scheduled Preventive and Corrective maintenance of rig equipment such the HWU power packs, HWU jacks and HUSCO, power tongs, counterbalance, hydra slips (traveler & stationary), triplex mud pumps, mechanical air compressors, power generating sets, cranes, etc. Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, repair equipment. Re-kit accessories such as BOP elements (ram type and annular), valves (hammer, gate), hydraulic pumps (centrifugal pumps or fire &water pumps, rotary pumps, Wilden pumps, etc), hydraulic motors (agitator motors, etc). I operate Hydraulic workover equipment such as the Power tong, counterbalance, etc. I document maintenance reports. Create maintenance procedures. Monitor mechanical engineering interns. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislations. A member of spill control team. Assist in rig up and rig down of Hydraulic Work Over rig. Assist in rig move from one location to another.
