Worked with a team of zoologists on a National Park Service grant to create spreadsheets from archival National Park Service documents containing incidental bird observations for Alaska National Parks. Google Earth and topographic maps were used to track species occurrence data, and to record seasonal trends in migratory and resident avifauna. Became proficient using Cornell Laboratory’s online bird observation database, “eBird”, and co-authored a user manual to show park service employees and visitors how to upload to the database. Co-authored a final report outlining the activities which were completed under the National Park Service grant.

Worked with broodstock development at Fort Richardson Fish Hatchery to raise Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling, and Rainbow Trout for sport stock and brood. Daily tasks included weighing feed for indoor and outdoor fish, indoor tank and outdoor raceway maintenance. Assisted in the set-up of outdoor recirculation pumps to provide greater oxygen flow to brood char and rainbow trout. Lead tours through broodstock development, explaining the purpose of the program and outlining the duties of a fish cultralist.
