Having come to Boston as a member of the Inaugural class of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance as a Trombonist and then part time drummer, I was enrolled in a class with Dr. Carl Atkins, and Calvin Hicks which discussed having World View according to music. In sharing some of my ideas, Calvin Hicks who founded and directed the Woodwinds & Brass program asked me to develop some of those ideas in his program, and became my mentor. When he decided to retire I held his position for one year, at his behest. Though I am still listed as instructor at NEC, I have pursued new interests. Perhaps some time in the future it may be relevant again. I am currently working to develop a new platform to present my original works called Chibuzo Music. Show less
