The mission of Lesson Study Alliance, Illinois 501(c)(3) corporation, is to promote and support the effective use of lesson study to improve K-12 teaching and learning, especially in math and science. Lesson study uses the planning, teaching, observation, and discussion of a live classroom lesson as the engine of professional growth. It has a long history in Japan and is being used by a growing number of schools and school districts in the U.S. and around the world.
