I was privileged to be Akhila's coach in the Polsky Small Business Growth Program summer 2021 session. This is a very demanding program in which a team of three student consultants (with a supervising coach) performs a 10-week marketing consulting project for one or more small businesses on Chicago's South Side - our team completed projects for two small, women-owned businesses. Client deliverables included two very complex presentation decks - each 50+ pages. During our time together I found Akhila to be extremely bright, inquisitive, and dedicated. She is an excellent communicator and works well independently as well as part of a team. Her business/financial background was very helpful for the projects, and she quickly grasped new marketing and social media strategies/tactics. The project required active participation in many client meetings and presentations, and Akhila excelled at this - particularly able to read client signals and pivot when necessary. With her positive attitude, work ethic, and creative/analytical problem-solving skills, I have no doubt Akhila will be a success in all her future endeavors.
