Bio
Sina Fagbenro-Byron
I met Akaoma in 2009 in a professional capacity, when she was a senior associate of the DFID funded PATHS 2 program (Partnership for Health Systems Strengthening) at the then Department for International Development (DFID) Nigeria, south west office in Lagos and where I served as Head of Lagos Office and Regional Coordinator for southwest Nigeria, having the responsibility of oversight of a raft of DFID programs including PATHS 2. Akaoma made significant contributions towards program success. She displayed a wealth of ideas, passion and understanding of the health systems in Lagos and Nigeria generally and working closely with other colleagues, as a valued team player. Subsequently and on the successful conclusion of the PATHS 2 program, Akaoma has been involved with several other institutional development related consulting assignments including setting up her own firm and has demonstrated the following competences at very commendable levels: 1. Facilitator at conferences, information exchanges and lessons learned sessions 2. Soft skills (attitude, sense of good judgment and comportment) 3. Influencing with integrity 4. Report writing 5. Working successfully with other consultants and major clients and players in the development space 6. Highly collaborative and disciplined I have no hesitation whatsoever in writing this recommendation, knowing fully well that her commitment to development and passion for work are without question
Opeyemi Odedere,
Working with Akaoma was pleasurable and impactful. She is purpose-driven and always able to come up with innovative ideas for doing things, including drawing up effective approaches to government and partner's engagement within the health development space. I worked with Akaoma when I was with Save the Children International as the Maternal and Child Health Specialist, and I supervised her consultancy service on the revision and development of the Human Resource for Health Policy for Lagos State. Arguably, Akaoma's attention to detail and her ability to weather the storm at critical times were some of the reasons why Lagos can now boast of an HRH health policy that is somewhat operational. I hereby recommend Akaoma!

Akaoma is a seasoned professional with lots of experience in leading and managing projects and programmes. She comes with deep passion for making change and impact in the lives of people. Working with Akaoma is great value for the team or the organization. I strongly recommend her.
