Ph.D. dissertation title : " Fabrication and characetrization of ultraviolet photoresponsive devices" Summary: Worked on integration and evaluation of graphene and inorganic semiconductor gamma-copper iodide (CuI) with wide bandgap semiconductors i.e. gallium nitride (GaN) and gallium oxide (Ga2O3) to fabricate UV and deep-UV photoresponsive devices. I put forward to simple UV illumination technique to evaluate the interface quality of 2D/3D i.e. graphene/GaN heterojunction and predict presence of interfacial impurities and subsequently the device performance. Our method could be used to evaluate various 2D/3D and 3D/3D heterojunctions. Skills acquired during Ph.D. studies: Fabrication techniques: Atmospheric and low pressure chemical vapor deposition technique: high quality monolayer graphene, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN),carbon nanomaterial, thermal deposition of copper iodide. UV photoresponsive devices: graphene/GaN heterojunction, graphene/Ga2O3 heterojunction, CuI/GaN heterojunction, CuI/Ga2O3 heterojunction. Characterization techniques: Raman Spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis (X.R.D.), Scanning electron microscopy, I-V characterization Show less

Worked on research project titled: " Adsorption study of Reactive Red 141 dye using green carbon materials" Along with research, I was extensively involved in teaching M.Sc. Nanotechnology course work. Research project: Successfully fabricated green carbon materials using waste biomass and studied their textile dye (RR141) adsorption capacity for water purification application. Successfully achieved 97% dye removal efficiency under in initial 30 mins of contact under highly acidic medium.
