      • Developing novel chemistry and processes of pigment particle synthesis, particle surface modifications, and dispersions used in non-aqueous media for electrophoretic displays. • Formulate electrophoretic inks to improve EPD performance and achieve desired electro-optical performance, stability over the operating temperature range, and durability under operating environment conditions • Developing and apply analytical methods to particles/dispersions and perform extensive characterizations on particle surface charge, functionality, particle chemical composition, particle-size distribution, dispersion stability, and dispersion rheology •Determine structure/property relationships, study mechanisms, correlate particle and dispersion properties to the final EPD performance, identify parameters that are critical to function, and develop solutions to improve EPD performance •As part of a project development life cycle, work with pilot engineers to co-optimize formulations and processes for scale-up Show less
