Study and understand the scope and specs from the bid package. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from the Civil plans. Estimate the cost for the said quantities using latest industry costs for equipment, material and labor. Choose the best suitable equipment(s) required for the job. Follow up with sub contractor(s), if applicable, for their costs and add it to the bid. Make a detailed bid proposal stating the scope of the work which will be performed including the sub contractors work and the quantity of work which will be performed. Submit said bid in a timely manner. Understand the job and it’s purpose and propose value engineering options. Request RFI’s and RFP’s.
