Under the supervision of Prof. Brian Broderick, I researched the mitigation of structural vibration caused by earthquake excitation using tuned liquid column dampers (TLCD). This research involved mathematical modelling and optimization the system followed by real-time testing of a hybrid model of the structure-TLCD model. On completion, this work validated the applicability of LCD dampers in seismic vibration mitigation and is used in the prediction of structural-LCD behaviour.
