  I come from a family of Musicians and Dancers, and nearly everyone in the family is highly trained in the arts, with some of them actively performing. I was under the tutelage of smt. Mythili Raghavan (post graduate from Kalakshetra) for 13 years. Before that, I was under the tutelage of smt. Vidya Iyer between ages 3-9 and specialized in the Thanjavur style of Bharatanatyam. I am undergoing advanced training under guru V. Balagurunathan from Kalakshetra. I am currently a freelance artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area and am part of a couple dance troupes and all of my time outside of work is spent rehearsing and practicing. I am undergoing vocal training in Carnatic music under guru J B Keerthana. I am also undergoing training in Nattuvangam and layam (rhythm) from Mridangam Vidwan Mayavaram Shankar. I have extensive experience accompanying solos and dance dramas on the Nattuvangam and am open to any nattuvangam opportunties for Arangetrams, dance dramas or dance programs. Show less
