Aishat brought integrity, intelligence and experience to her work. She vastly improved the financial management and controls of the organisation. The systems and templates she developed and her attention to detail facilitated production of accurate and timely management reports, donor reports and statutory annual reports. Aishat produced quarterly forecasts and narrative reports, and introduced mid-year budget reviews and budgets. The reports produced by Aishat ensured clarity of the organisation's financial position which supported strategic decision making. Aishat led the organisation through consistently clean annual audits. It was a pleasure working with Aishat and I have no hesitation in recommending her to any Charity or business seeking to engage the services of an experienced and diligent financial management expert.

I had the opportunity to work with Aishat Idris (M.Sc, CIMA Adv Dip MA, ACG, MICB), as my direct line manager in United Purpose (formerly Concern Universal) in Nigeria. I will use the below points to capture her financial management expertise; LEADERSHIP: She knows how to enhance efficiency and productivity while maintaining confidence in her ability to move the team as well as the organization forward. She is a good team player. COMMUNICATION: Until her arrival at the organization there was a big gap between project managers and the finance and administrative teams, this she did because she possessed strong written and verbal communication skills which she used to explain complicated financial budgets and analysis. She is very comfortable with technology and can use various programs and applications to her advantage. TRANSPARENCY: This is one reason I would say led to her success in turning the organizations financial standards around, transparency in some areas that led to high staff attrition rate like the payroll system, programme budget analysis/explanations, this feat led to high productivity rate. ANALYSIS: Aishat possesses good analytical skills which she used in writing contracts, creating budgets, forecasting project outcomes as well as presenting financial reports, she taught me budget variance analysis as a volunteer. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Her prowess in this skill are seamless, she relates well with staff, partners/subgrantees, vendors/contractors etc. and her motivation to her team brought about efficiency and accuracy in delivery of tasks, her provision of incentives motivated staff. ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Her attention to detail is top notch as she understands domestic and international financial laws and regulations, even as she constantly researches to get more knowledge. ORGANIZATION: She put in place a simple yet efficient system of organizing documents (hardcopies filing system, online storage, server storage, offsite hard drives), her ability to organize information is indeed a great strength. ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDEDNTLY: For me, this is my most admired skill, before her arrival in-country the position of Finance and Administration Manager was micromanaged from the organizations head office overseas, but within a year she became the go-to-person for issues in other countries, at the local office level she could have all her staff in the field and still run the office without any hitches. These are some of the skills she possesses that makes her a good finance and administration manager with great finance and administrative expertise, but very worthy of note is that my work with her started as volunteer and ended up as a full term staff, this shows her support for employee development, Because of her line management, training and guidance, I was able to grow from volunteer to full term staff under her and after she left the organization became a member of the management team all in less than 5 years of work.
