Bio
Wesley Leon Aroozoo
As a filmmaker, I had the lovely opportunity to work and collaborate with Aishah when she was the inspiring and passionate Program Manager at The Substation and The Singapore International Film Festival. Aishah is always there to support, listen and lend a helping hand. With her wealth of experience with both local, Asian and international cinema, Aishah has programmed easily some of the best selections to come out from The Substation and SGIFF. Her film programs pushes boundaries and keenly talent scouts new and exciting talent in the filmmaking scene. Aside from programming, Aishah is also a prominent figure in the Singapore film scene, effortlessly keeping strong relationships with filmmakers and media partners. I am fortunate to know Aishah as not only a fantastic Program Manager, but as a friend whom I can count on. I look forward to hearing more of the new journey ahead for her and can assure the next organisation that she comes on board to, that they have a hardworking, passionate and talented amazing person ready and set to bring new heights and depth to the organisation.

Deeply knowledgeable about both the regional (Southeast Asian) and global film landscapes at large, Aishah is a multi-talented cultural professional whose work spans diverse forms, from project administration to curation and writing, particularly of cinema and moving image/ time-based media. A warm and vivacious individual who carries with her a certain generosity of spirit and empathy, Aishah is always a genuine pleasure to work with whenever our paths have crossed, in fora such as the Singapore International Film Festival, the largest and most decorated in the city-state, and The Substation, Singapore's first independent arts centre.
