  "Library assistants/desk support staff are an integral part of Alden Library and help maintain the smooth functioning of the public service desks. This includes, but is not limited to, lending library materials, providing reference assistance, troubleshooting computer and technology issues, maintaining library facilities and printers, assisting in the location of materials within our library, and referring patrons to research librarians, archivists, and specialists. Late-night library assistants are also responsible for performing closing procedures, and completing projects and tasks as assigned.
