I worked alongside a Post-doctoral researcher, Dr Max Zampini, on a gene assembly project. This work taught me some of the basic laboratory techniques such as; handling bacterial cultures, PCR, running DNA gels and using a fluorometer. The results from my internship were acknowledged on Zampini et al., 'RapGene: a fast and accurate strategy for synthetic gene assembly in Escherichia coli', Scientific Reports' (2015).
