Researching the extreme doping regimes of the oxide perovskite SrTiO3 and the TaSSe-based 2D materials in order to access unique electronic phases of matter. Nanofabrication is used to pattern these materials into devices that are suitable for low temperature electronic transport measurements, and techniques such as AFM, STM, and Raman are employed for further characterisation.

Fabricated a specific quantity of nanoscale GaAs/AlGaAs Hall effect sensors for use in scanning probe microscopy at the request of an external industrial company. Learnt the nanofabrication techniques necessary to fabricate and successfully deliver the required number of sensors within the designated deadline of one month and incorporated a new fabrication step at the client’s request using methodical optimisation.
