I'm studying Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Biomolecular Engineering. I'm currently involved in the Clarkson Belly Dance club where I do a few shows per semester. I'm involved in ChemE car, which is a chemical engineering design team that creates a shoebox car that is propelled by chemical reactions. I also am part of AIChE, which is a chemical engineering society that works with building up students to become professionals in the workforce.

I mentored and supervised five other students involved in my summer program. I organized weekly hikes and "family" dinners in order to build teamwork and a sense of community. In addition, I found the balance between being in a position of authority while also being the students' peer. I demanded respect due to my position, but I also made sure that I was open and easy to approach.

I worked both independently and with a post doctoral fellow to develop a model for Lyme disease in Zebrafish embryos. I mastered the technique of micro-injections via both mechanical and computerized systems. At the end of both summers, I presented my findings at Clarkson University's SURE conference and received first place for my presentation. In addition, last summer I presented my findings to New York Senator Gillibrand in order to further fund Trudeau's research in Lyme disease.
