There are a million things I could say about Aileen and why she was such a pleasure to manage. All of the qualities you’d hope for in a social media / digital marketing manager are there – she knows the big paid social platforms like the back of her hand, comes to the table with ideas of how to optimize and improve a campaign’s performance and keeps on top of the latest platform updates – always being the first in our team to know. But Aileen’s biggest strength is simply her personality and attitude – which is simply one of the best I’ve seen in my career. Always looking to improve, she takes feedback in the right way and I was blown away by how much she progressed and developed in her time at WE. She brings her incredible charm and wit into everything she does and made an irreplaceable contribution to our office culture. From independently running our digital newsletter with the sort of craic and banter that only she could provide (whilst obviously sharing brilliant thought-leadership), to sending the agency weekly home workout exercises during lockdown, things like this matter just as much as the day-to-day work for our clients. We were gutted to see her leave but over the moon to see her land the dream role in the sports nutrition industry – I was personally so happy to see her fulfil her destiny! I can’t recommend her enough nor can I thank her enough for being such a wonderful colleague and friend.

Applegreen upholds a 12% share of the fuel market in ROI and has also formed several strategic partnerships with global brands to compliment the in-store offering (e.g. Burger King, Costa Coffee, Subway). During my time as Marketing Executive in Applegreen PLC, I had the following responsibilities: • Leading all aspects of ‘Dealer Marketing’. This involved working closely with site owners to ensure any needs they had were met (e.g. providing forecourt signage, running individualised promotional campaigns, managing the client relationship between Applegreen and site owners). • Working with graphic designers to design and create a wide range of materials for print on behalf of our Dealer Partners, and for Applegreen’s internal marketing (POS, banners, outdoor advertisements, full range of forecourt marketing material etc.). • Working with graphic designers to design and create online advertisements. • Organisation of events, such as applying for and arranging attendance at awards ceremonies for both Applegreen and our clients and arranging attendance at trade shows. • Organisation of special experiences for our Dealer Partners, such as sporting events, awards presentations, charity events etc. • Organisation, and management of Applegreen’s sponsorship of Manus Kelly & Donal Barrett in the Donegal Rally 2018. This involved the design and organisation of all print and merchandise, organising a client experience for attending the event, managing the client relationship and communicating the sponsorship via social media and local advertising channels. • Identifying and liaising with various suppliers to organise the design and development of various branded merchandise (e.g. branded umbrellas, clothing, travel mugs etc.).
