The $7 Billion project will link the M80 Ring Road in the north, to the Eastern Freeway to the south. The Primary Package includes a 6km twin-tunnel, adjacent shared user paths, new interchanges for major roads and tie-ins to the existing freeways. My work with the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team involved managing the interface between Design-Construction-Architects-O&M, advising on maintenance implications of design choices, regular presentations to key stakeholders, defining maintenance scope and boundaries.

The project involved the construction of new overtaking lanes, upgrading intersections, formation widening and general safety upgrades along the Bruce Highway. I was responsible for tracking costs, preparing variations, composing quality documentation, managing subcontractors and planning the remainder of the works.

Key responsibilities included:• Worked with the Site Supervisor and PM to ensure project milestones were met and the programme was adhered to.• Assisted in the procurement of subcontractors and communication with subcontractors to complete the required works.• Provided information for, and assisted in the development of, the end of month progress claims.• Provided site inductions to new personnel.• Organised testing and survey for all works including GST, embankment, subgrade, unbound pavement, cement stabilised pavement and concrete works.• Carried out Hold Point and Witness Point checks with TMR Inspector such as proof rolling, steel inspections, slump testing, drop rate tests etc.• Monitored works to ensure activities were carried out in accordance with the client’s requirements, TMR specifications and AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008.• Ensured all works were signed off by the relevant persons in the ITP checklists. • Prepared all the relevant documentation for each Lot and closed out the Conformed Lots. • Documented NCRs and promptly notified the TMR Inspector, the Administrator and the PM.• Closed out NCRs once rectification works were completed.• Prepared, verified and submitted all Lot Conformance Reports to TMR upon completion of works.
