In this work placement I led my own project to create a new flood warning area which is triggered when high risk properties are expected to flood, providing inhabitants time to prepare and evacuate. The work placement prepared me for professional employment working alongside a team in an office environment. I also developed my GIS skills using ArcGIS to create a flood warning polygon, while improving my research skills using a desk-based study to identify key stakeholders who would be affected by the flood warning.
