As Lead Architect Intern, I drew on my experience working with Interboro Partners in an architecture studio intensive at Bard College to develop creative methods of involving local stakeholders in the design process of a community hub in the Midtown neighborhood of Kingston, NY. As "Within 4 Walls" Intern, I effectively worked with a team to provided residents in moderate to low- to moderate-income neighborhoods in Kingston, NY with free indoor air quality and energy efficiency home… Show more As Lead Architect Intern, I drew on my experience working with Interboro Partners in an architecture studio intensive at Bard College to develop creative methods of involving local stakeholders in the design process of a community hub in the Midtown neighborhood of Kingston, NY. As "Within 4 Walls" Intern, I effectively worked with a team to provided residents in moderate to low- to moderate-income neighborhoods in Kingston, NY with free indoor air quality and energy efficiency home tests. Working with energy audit experts, I sketched annotated floor plans in the field to communicate the location of HVAC equipment and other relevant appliances. This research and advocacy work aimed to develop a case that the housing stock provided under Section 8 should adhere to higher insulation and indoor air quality standards and was an extension of the non-profit initiative I created and developed in collaboration with Keyvious Avery at Bard College in 2020. In an effort to help those experiencing homelessness cope with and feel empowered during the Covid-19 Pandemic, I helped design and carry out a crowd-funded campaign which successfully raised over $4,000 to be used to develop and assemble kits which included extra socks, face coverings, and sanitary supplies, which were distributed to homeless shelters in the Kingston NY area. This initiative later grew into a larger set of programs to help marginalized communities thrive in times of crisis… Show more In an effort to help those experiencing homelessness cope with and feel empowered during the Covid-19 Pandemic, I helped design and carry out a crowd-funded campaign which successfully raised over $4,000 to be used to develop and assemble kits which included extra socks, face coverings, and sanitary supplies, which were distributed to homeless shelters in the Kingston NY area.
