I am glad to have known and worked with Ahmed during our Master’s course in Intelligence and Security Studies at Brunel University in 2016-2017. Ahmed has not only been a good friend since then, but on many instances during our course, he has demonstrated strong leadership and courage as well as support, guidance and motivation to fellow classmates. Ahmed is kind and helpful. Ahmed has voluntarily introduced us to an alumnus of the course on day one in an effort to guide us on how effectively we could study and be successful in our assignments throughout the program. Ahmed has reached out to every one of us and showed a genuine interest to learn about us and our background, which I believe are essential traits of a good leader who can engage and influence people toward success. Ahmed is an insightful individual. He has consistently demonstrated reasonable judgments on intelligence/threat assessments during the lectures and class exercises. His bank of knowledge on intelligence, economic and geopolitical affairs has been tremendous value addition to the lectures as well as group discussions within the class. Ahmed demonstrates commendable presentation skills. His data centric approach backed up with his confidence in the subject matter generate trust in the audiences he presents to. I have witnessed on many occasions that he does his research right, both on the subject matter as well as on his audiences that make his overall communication highly engaging and effective and his materials certainly more credible. Ahmed is a problem solver as well. He demonstrates strong maturity and selflessness when it comes to helping someone. When I struggled to identify a particular focus item from an assignment and presentation topic that Ahmed and I were both assigned to, Ahmed has voluntarily taken the lead to come up with a focus item that I could work on. This has been enormously helpful for me. Last and not the least, Ahmed demonstrates positivity and confidence in all his endeavors. His convictions can quickly inspire and motivate others. I have been privy to experiencing that in several instances with him either over coffee or a walk to the city center. I wish Ahmed success in all his endeavors.
