Began to run my own shifts leading teams between 3-6 members of staff maintaining cash control when opening the premises, during a shift handover and closing the premises as the closing manager. whilst running shift there was generating orders and taking in deliveries of supplies that were required of the business. This lead to me taking more responsibility for the overall quality of experience that customers have whilst on the premises, including dealing with a variety of problems and situations. Studio Bartender

From the middle of December, I was employed as a bartender within Showcase cinema de lux that required their staff to take an American approach to customer service, which including going beyond the call of our roles to keep customers very satisfied during their time within the cinema. This included serving alcohol and food orders that are catered towards the customer's needs. In the director's lounge in particular, a premium cinema experience, we offered our customers with complementary and any orders they have made would be brought into the cinema screen itself and delivered to where they were sitting including their drinks. Overall the opportunities and experiences I’ve learnt from this role allowed myself to become professional, warm welcoming, understanding and adapted to working within a small time frame in high pressured environments. A 3rd year placement opportunity which created opportunities to enhance not only my marketing skills but also the organising and planning for events that was undertaken during my time with Newforms training and development. The skill I have learned from this opportunity are as follows: • The use of Hootsuit for social media awareness including creating posts that promoted news about Newforms and salesforce that managed the mailing list and contact details of those interested with Newforms. • Help coordinate four events that are associated with Newforms • Attend a business event called VentureFest East Midlands to promote and sell the services that Newforms offers including creating potential business opportunities with universities and businesses alike. • Drafted ideas for upcoming events and ways to increase interest towards Newforms. • Adapted to working within an office environment and also alongside a variety of individuals from a whole range of backgrounds including the main management. As part of main management for the project, I was involved in helping organize an event called ‘’Silver Vine Art’s Summer Art Trail’’ as part of Leicester City Festival. A project involving 15 venues in Leicester. What my role included was producing A4 posters for the art trail including a volunteer poster and three different artist opportunities. A risk assessment of a venue that was used by 5+ artists with the coordinator of SVA and going to small independent shops to seek sponsorship towards SVA. Show less
