During my internship at Carrefour Market Meknes Hamria, I had the opportunity to explore the world of large-scale retail and gain practical knowledge related to this field. I learned about the store's hierarchy and the various stages a product goes through, including the negotiation between the purchasing team and suppliers, order consolidation through the platform, and product distribution to the stores. Additionally, I acquired skills in stock management and order handling, while ensuring coverage and markdown compliance. One of the highlights of my internship was working on a project aimed at optimizing customer waiting times at the checkout lines. I engaged with customers, conducting surveys and interacting with them to identify the challenges they faced in this regard. I collected on-site data, which I used to simulate the flow of customers in the checkout lines using Arena Simulation software. Based on the data analysis, I proposed an optimal schedule for cashiers that was validated by the simulator. Overall, my internship experience at Carrefour Market provided me with valuable insights into the world of large-scale distribution and hands-on experience in various aspects of the industry, from supply chain management to customer service optimization.
