Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule  Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures  Analyze revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis  Prepare monthly account reconciliations  Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances  Assist with financial and tax audits  Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements  Assist with quarterly producer commission reports; analyzing and correcting discrepancies  Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls  Follow up with the Banks for cheque collection and deposits  Customer credit controls, Cash flow reports and Petty Cash  Supervises all aspects of an accounting function.  Develops an accounting system for the management of assets, liabilities and transactions.  Formulates accounting practices for general ledger, A-P, A-R and assets.  Evaluates the organization's and industry's practices on how capital assets are depreciated.  Oversees the process and data flow between accounting systems and sub-systems.  Consults on the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting process flow Show less
