   Perform trouble shooting and diagnostic procedures on vehicles and equipment.  Oversee the inspection and diagnosis of vehicles and communicate finding to line manager and customer.  Notify line Manager of additional work needed or any delays in expected completion as soon as they become known so the customer may be contacted and notified of delay.  Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair job.  Give special attention to repeat orders to ensure the situation is corrected and reduce the likelihood of further occurrences.  Ensure work is performed as per company standards and current schedule of works.  Ensure all work is carried out to agreed quality and standards and documentation is completed on time.  Ensure final control and test drive for all vehicles are carried out prior to release.  Ensure warranty jobs are properly followed up, monitored, and documented.  Assist management with developing procedures to ensure workshop efficiency.  Assist with the development of the department monthly budget.  Work irregular hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.  Ensure workshop equipment, materials and consumables are kept at an optimum level.  Assist all Technicians and Apprentice Technicians in the diagnosis of mechanical and electrical problems.  Establish department work schedule, balancing the workloads of all employees.  Establish job assignments for all service employees within their skill levels.  Ensure efficient and effective utilization of workshop labor.  Evaluate training requirement of all technicians and agree on training needs with manager and training coordinator.  Uphold the trust and confidence of current customers.  Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude and demonstrate our commitment to “Make Things Right”.  Ensure all customer vehicles are presented back to the customer in a clean and presentable standard.
