Planning and positioning of driver seat, steering wheel/column and crew seats ergonomically. Optimizing Visual Line of Sight for the Driver and Modular Dashboard Design.• Planning and Creating Assembly Sequence of Sheet Metal parts to guide and support production team for vehicle body structure assembly.• Chassis / Axle Reinforcements for OEM Chassis to Incorporate Armored Protected Hull.• Concept designing and styling of body structure to achieve blast protection, ballistic protection, easy service accessibility, assembly and disassembly friendly for powertrain and drivetrain components.• Suspension Design which includes Kinematic Modeling for Suspension Hard Points as per the mobility requirements, optimizing spring damping characteristics, Steering Modifications for enhanced mobility. • Selection and Design of Accessories Like Door/Hood Hinges, Latching Mechanisms, Gun Ports, Bullet Catchers, Capping Plates, Seat Mounts, Gun Mounts, Swing Arms Etc.• Optimizing Heat Effected Zones, adding ballistic overlaps, capping plates, bullet catchers and effective thickness of exterior plates for additional protection. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, worked with an amazing group of talented engineers in Mechanical Design and System Teams for the design and development of ¼ Ton Military Rolling Chassis, 1.5 Ton Military Rolling Chassis and a Land Cruiser based Electric Jeep.Major Responsibilities during these projects Includes,• 3D Scanning of Mitsubishi Double Wishbone Suspension Sub-Frame and Mitsubishi Multilink Suspension Sub-Frame using FaroArm and ScanArm.• Conversion of 3D Scanned Data into usable CAD data to deduce all important Hard Points.• Design and Development of Custom Sub-Frames from the 3D Scanned Data.• FEA Analysis of Suspension Subframes for optimized Bending and Torsional Rigidity under various Loading Conditions.• Design and Development of Ladder Frame, Optimized Cross Section for better Bending and Torsional Rigidity, FEA Analysis and Material Selection to ensure Optimized Performance.• CAD of Power-Plant and Driveline for System Integrations.• Design of Engine Mounts, Transmission Mounts, Suspension Mounts etc to ensure proper integration.• Engineering Documentations, Production Drawings, Assembly Drawings and Welding Drawings were made for the final production of Prototypes.• CAD for Land Cruiser based Electric Vehicle was carried out which includes design of Custom Battery Bay, Motor and Transfer-Case integrations and Customized Roll Cage, Integration of Remote Weapon Station and Military Standard Dashboard.
