I worked with Ahana on a proof of concept when she was in Ingersoll Rand for her brief period. Her engineering insights and process adherence while doing the experiment on understanding the effects of air due to heat source helped us draw conclusions and insights for the application of the same in trailer refrigeration. All the best for your future endeavors.

Of the many students I have taught, Ahana Kumar is one of those very few, who stand out in my memories in terms of professional student teacher interaction and conduct. I have taught Ahana in the capacity of Assistant professor at PES University in two core mechanical engineering modules. In my interactions with her in the classroom, I remember her as being on the calm and composed spectrum of the classroom. She was also accurate in her answers to problems in Engineering Dynamics, which needed good analytical problem solving skills. Being regular and attentive, even in-off-the hour classes, she was a hardworking and dedicated individual, firm in her conduct and vision of professionalism in her role as a student. She was also the recipient of the prestigious CNR Rao scholarship from 2nd to 7th semesters, given only to top 20% of the students each semester. This achievement well highlights her long term success oriented work ethic. Overall, I am very happy that I have come across a student like Ahana Kumar. I wish her the very best and I am confident that she will be a very valuable asset and a leader in her field. I recommend her fully, for any role she might find suiting. All the very best Ahana.

-Handled a new project given to our department to carry out the assembly optimisation and planning of H6 trucks in the China plant. My job was to find the optimum order of assembly that would avoid repetitive tasks , help order parts, plan the parts distribution across the assembly line, fasteners and their required tools list preparation, list of parts for logistics, missing parts list for further clarity on difference between the old and new variants and provide a step-by-step method to assemble every part of the truck at various stations. All these were reports were discussed weekly with counterparts in Germany and China, giving me an idea of the actual on ground process and how my reports were time saving and an essential part of the Process Improvement. This helped win the star team award at the department level.-For ordering and sourcing, prepared parts list of all variants of H6 truck with quantity and material details.-Compared the Homologation list (parts approved by local government at the plant site) to Daimler database to report the changes in one type of vehicle produced in various parts of the world.-As part of the Agile method, currently Co-Lead for 4M documentation and methods time measurement study of assembly and pre-assembly to be done at the China trucks plant. -Overseeing the paint methods-time measurement for the Paint and Cabin areas, ensuring their on time delivery to counterparts in China, effective communication and presentation to them.-Reducing number of blue collars and proposing the fastest possible method for assembly by preparing the 4M documents, assembly order and methods-time measurement for the Final line at the H6 plants. -Organised a workshop for colleagues in India and Germany to gap the bridge between the assembly planning done here and the actual practices at the vehicle site.-Prepared list of all Cabin parts for sourcing, their quantity, weight, numbers and variants they were present in for smooth order and costing process.-Master-list (entire upcoming vehicles’ parts list) and Planet-list (vehicle parts list from the previous truck versions) study, analysis and report generation to prepare a list for sourcing additional parts before the build and study the upgrades in the vehicle as compared to the old ones. This would optimise the assembly and business process like ordering parts at our China Plant.-Analysed and investigated all China plant truck variants to prepare a report that differentiated the locally sourced and internationally sourced parts for costing and quantity comparison, the Business report was presented at the Head of Department and senior management level.-Comparison and analysis of homologation list (parts approved by local government at the plant site) with the Master-list(upcoming vehicles parts list) to make necessary changes to the vehicle parts before sourcing them from suppliers. This ensured all local bodies and theirs laws were respected and time was saved before the actual assembly.-High performance vehicle range analysis and study was carried out to check the part differences across multiple variants for faster assembly and logistic planning. -Carried out analysis and check of the assembly of upcoming sports vehicles to avoid errors such as assembly order errors, part documentation errors, missing parts in the assembly etc., raised each of these issues with the design counterparts to ensure on time delivery of perfect 3D models and parts list with corrections. All interactions and document translation from English to German and vice versa. Show less

-Helped in process optimisation by creating an automated data management system for the department consultants; memberships renewals, ID management, assets management etc; a time-saving technique. -Study the ergonomics of the car seat to ensure a seamless experience as a driver and passenger. -Faster resource management, cost-saving assembly and optimised workflow achieved by reporting the distinctions between various variants of the Sports vehicle. -Carried out a tool feasibility study; a process improvement technique to ensure the rights tools are available at the plant during the time of assembly. Generated a report stating the time taken, mentioning tools required at each part of the vehicle and providing a strategy to reduce time spent on non-technical tasks at the plant. Show less

As part of my two week internship at Ingersoll Rand, I carried out the Project “Effects of velocity of air and transient/adjacent heat source on a dry bulb sensor.” This helped me to analyse, study and prove that air has minimum significance when it comes to temperature readings in a multi-temperature unit. This project would help devise plans on how the Multi-temperature units could be modified and minimise their error which would in turn help us to save fuel and help in sustainable development. I presented ideas on its optimisation and reports on its results. I also showcased a process improvement plan to carry out testing. Show less
