Ewa Sikora. Main goals of the project: - characterization of cellular senescence as an outcome of anticancer therapy, - evaluation of impact of cellular senescence in cancer progression and treatment, - answering the question whether polyploidy and senescence are interconnected; - assessment of the role of polyploidy in senescent cancer cells overcoming cancer treatment, - describing the novel role of autophagic flux resumption in escaping from polyploidization/senescence after anticancer treatment, - characterisation of cancer cells, which escaped therapy induced polyploidization/senescence. Designed projects and led trainees during they scholarships; Established successful collaborations with lab members and external scientists; Presented to bigger audience during scientific conferences; Effectively collected multiple travel grants for international conferences; Wrote scientific publications and numerous lab protocols.
