It has been a pleasure working with Agata, last year for the technology stream of Pint of Science. She is a very good team player, with excellent problem solving abilities; She has been essential for the smooth planning and executing of the festival. She was able to identify key opinion leaders in the selected technology sector and manage their invitation. Furthermore, she excelled in copying with tight deadlines by holding regular meetings with us to monitor progress.

Marilena Loizidou

As an MSc student (Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine, UCL) Agata performed to a very high standard, graduating with Distinction. During her research project she developed a multi-compartmental 3D cancer model. This was a proof of principle study based on our conviction that to study cancerous tumours we needed to create a biomimetic model in the lab. The study was the result of cross disciplinary collaboration between myself (Marilena Loizidou, cancer nanotechnologist ) and Umber Cheema (tissue engineer). This synthetic model recapitulates the composition of cancerous tumours: it has compartments of invasive cancer surrounded by connective tissue (stroma). Agata was the first student researcher working on this model. During her project, Agata developed a considerable skill set and analytical abilities to a very high standard and went on to a successful PhD.

POLAND 2.0 SUMMIT is an annual event held in Autumn at Imperial College London. Its main purpose is to stimulate a discussion on how innovation and new technologies impact and add value to start-ups, entrepreneurship, public policy and many other areas; as well as to promote innovation as a means of successful development of the Polish economy. As a programme officer I searched for the up-and-coming change makers, creative individuals and innovative start-ups. I was responsible for inviting speakers and arranging agenda, contact with speakers throughout the preparation period and prior to the conference, identifying new partners and sponsors, helping with social media marketing, and preparing the discussion panels to cover most interesting issues (fintech and biotech/medtech panels).
