I spent the summer and fall seasons participating in many diverse forage research projects. The field research consists of many grass breeding trials, legume management projects, water management studies on corn and several forage mixture experiments. Field equipment operation e. Maturity staging of forage plants, and f. Proper sample handling. In addition to the field tasks, I engaged in learning about forage quality work in our laboratory. My experience includes analyzing forage for Nitrogen, Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) and In Vitro True Digestibility (IVTD).
