The Office of the Head of the Foreign Service supports the Head of the Foreign Service in performing his duties, namely prepares formal documentation, oversees implementation of decisions of the Head of the Foreign Service; coordinates visits and meetings; analyses motions for additional employment of members of the Polish foreign service; conducts matters related to academic and/or journalistic publications of the members of the Polish foreign service; analyses information on organisation of foreign services of other countries; prepares proposals on modernization and improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.The Office of the Head of the Foreign Service acts to increase the presence of citizens of the Republic of Poland in the European External Action Service of the EU and other international organisations, plans and organizes recruitment/secondment procedures of Polish candidates for positions in these organisations; undertakes lobbying for our candidates and monitors the employment status of citizens of the Republic of Poland in international organisations; conducts recruitment of Polish candidates for election observations missions and EOM trainings; conducts matters relating to the exchange of support with the countries of the European Union within the framework for the Exchange of Support Mechanism; prepares an annual report of the Head of the Foreign Service on the state of the foreign service.In addition, Office organises sessions of Foreign Service Covenant, which evaluates candidates for ambassadorial posts. It is also responsible for preparation of annual meetings of heads of Polish diplomatic missions and permanent representations to international organisations, the Polish Office in Taipei and the Office of the Representative of the Republic of Poland to the Palestinian National Authority, based in Ramallah (Ambassadors‘ Conference).
