Agata has been working in FNUSA-ICRC as staff scientist for our behavioural rodent facility. From the very beginning she had to deal with complexity of working in a facility not owned by FNSUA-ICRC and far from FNUSA-ICRC headquarters. She started setting up the behavioural set-up for rodents independently at the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine (IMTM), Palacký University, Olomouc, interacting with FNUSA-ICRC and IMTM administration. The challenge has been even greater, since at that time I was at Trinity College Dublin, where then I definitely moved. Despite that, Dr Miska-Schramm has been able to organize the moving of equipment from Brno to Olomouc, schedule installation, set up of the lab and preparing the project license application for first experiments. Dr Miska-Schramm took also part to the international project INTERREG Austria - Czech Republic ‘Creating synergies between research infrastructures to stimulate innovation in the cross-border region’, funded in 2016 and aimed to exchange staff for sharing of expertise, mutual trainings on best practices in rodents behaviour knowhow, providing open access to technologies and training of users. She organised workshop in Olomouc and joined Vienna Biocenter Core Facilities in Vienna, Austria for staff exchange several times. As her line manager, I appreciated her knowledge of lab animal science and independent thinking. Agata is always keen to her duties, respectful of the others and very reliable. She has shown high level of independence, but at the same time ability to work in a team in very challenging situations.
