I strive to assist field sales with a variety of tasks, including broadening their customer base, new product support and troubleshooting, building sales rapport for new customers, prospecting new accounts, preparing information for outgoing calls, and securing new customers. We also attend shows and promote products with field sales. I also work directly with customers to promote new products, troubleshoot current products, provide samples, and find ways to make their lives easier, whether it is with our products or an alternative product.

    • Technical Support Representative III
      • Aug 2010 - May 2014

Basic day to day duties include answering customer inquiries via email, phone calls or webchat about anything from the basics of PCR or qPCR to troubleshooting scientists experiments or more in depth, complex applications such as cloning or next generation sequencing. In addition, I routinely design qPCR assays for gene expression as well as LNA based assays for SNP detection. Currently, I am managing a project to move all of our technical information to an electronic database which is a combination of a wiki type format as well as a content library. In addition to the science side of things, I work closely with the web developers here at IDT. I recently managed a project to redesign and revamp one of our online design tools, and recorded a number of videos to demonstrate the updates. I work as a point of contact between the customer facing groups and the web developers and constantly work to keep the site up to date as well as improve it based on user feedback.
