With the aim of building bridges and ties between Muslims and Non-Muslims in Hong Kong, I took up the opportunity of being a part of this impactful committee. Through collaborations with organizations, mosques and people with the same vision, we built an extremely diverse community of over 200 people in just one year through events such as: - Seminars led by scholars - Eid festivities - Islamic Awareness Week - Social gatherings for students - Iftar get-togethers - Quizzes - Habit building initiatives - social media campaigns An extremely bitter-sweet memory, sweet because of all the precious times and bitter because of the fear of leaving it one day. This was a community project founded by a few of us students from disciplines of business and law aiming to enhance exposure to cantonese learning for ethnically diverse students. Partnered up with Citi Foundation, Hong Kong Unison and Ham Baang Laang for mentoring us and guiding us through this venture. Through the initiative, we assisted 15 children in their cantonese learning and improved their learning efficiency by 80%. The involvement of parents in the scheme allowed us to sustain our transfer of knowledge for a longer prospect, thus benefiting sustainably. Show less
