OUR MISSION We exist for the benefit of both parents and teachers. Teaching is an art and teachers need opportunities to cultivate their craft. Parents need to feel confident that their children are receiving the best education possible. Therefore, our goals are to help parents make well-informed decisions about the education of their children, and to help teachers experience true joy in their vocation. We desire to bridge a large gap that currently exists between most classical schools and the parents who send their students to these schools. As Director of Classical Methodology, I plan, provide, and/or locate professional development structured around classical pedagogy as it relates to class instruction and campus culture. I assist and/or model teach on campuses. I train in classical teaching strategies for all grades and subjects such as: nature study in science, narration in history and English, and Socratic seminars in any subject and grade. I have written formal proposals to request budget and submit curricular needs for art, music, and nature study programs. I create, write, and edit original classical curriculum for ResponsiveEd. Current projects include writing and leading a curriculum writer in developing classical English curriculum for grades 3-8 with detailed teacher guides. I also have created and manage the content for a new Classical Resource Library on the ResponsiveEd Intranet. Included are teacher handbooks I have written for various classical teaching strategies. I report to the Vice President of Academics and collaborate with Content Directors in the Academics Department. The academics department serves our district in on-going teacher training and curricular needs. I specifically work with approximately ten of our classical campuses throughout Texas.
