The work was critical to the Department’s dealings on public expenditure (PE) and PE-related issues with DFP, OFMDFM, Boards, and Trusts etc. By turns an investigator of Directorates’ bids for extra money and an advocate on behalf of those bids that are put forward.As part of this work, I:• Considered options to deliver better value for money services;• supported the reform of the Department and wider HSC, providing advice, guidance and financial information to inform policy decisions; and,• advised on the implications of resource budgetingI was also controller of programme allocations within the Department and the wider HPSS, facilitating grant in aid payments to HSC organisations on a daily basis and input into the direction of future research of the Capitation formula.
