Carefully monitor and clearly communicate critical street/safety information relating to local gang activity and membership to director, assistant directors and other senior and relevant staff. Consistently review participant profiles with supervisor and assistant directors, immediately and accurately updating changes, such as gang associations and rivalries, to ensure critical staff and client safety. Locate referrals to the program and engage them in in-depth conversation to determine their eligibility; track progress and continued eligibility of participants through weekly phone calls. Review and update targeted outreach lists to accurately reflect information that includes registered participant numbers and contact statistics.Review and monitor contact with incarcerated participants utilizing Efforts to Outcomes software. Address issues of absenteeism from the Transitional Employment Program through constructive and thoughtful discussions with youth worker and participant. Check in with supervisor on critical issues with participants including safety concerns, conflict mediation and gang changes. Develop strategies to address the issues and ensure the relevant team members and participants are involved in subsequent discussions.Support safety vetting of participants for classes and activities utilizing in-depth, current knowledge of over 200 gangs. Maintain participants’ gang profiles including affiliations, rivals and collaborations and use this information to schedule program participation that ensures staff and participant safety. Regularly and carefully review social media for updated safety concerns/issues to report to assistant directors and supervisors.Maintain regular communication with critical community partners, particularly law enforcement, in the various communities ROCA serves.Visit ROCA targeted participants in state prisons, explain programming and conduct an intake interview.
