  As a junior product engineer at DCD Rolling Stock I was tasked with responsibilities such as:-Design of suspension and stability elements such as required springs and spring rates according to mass and centre of mass determination.-CAD design of rolling stock steel support structure as well as the interior and exterior aesthetic elements of a double deck tram.-Theoretical determination of wind load force on passenger car body side.-Testing of wheel unloading through the development of load cell test apparatus and procedures to simulate track curve super-elevation (different track heights around a curve) and wind shear effects.-Design of ergonomic elements in collaboration with Rail Safety Regulators.-Creation of manufacturing drawings for parts and assemblies according to customer ISO specification.-Design of jigs and templates for accurate positioning of related weld-on parts.-Production and updating of assembly books.-Given the responsibility to be the project lead and manage the project from the start of a low cost rail passenger coach.-Collaboration with suppliers to source components not manufactured in house.-Implementation of engineering design changes brought on by customer.
