Cordelta was the first Australian design consultancy I joined since moving to Australia. At Cordelta, I was responsible for understanding organisational requirements and any technical limitations, as well as conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, surveys and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, prototypes and visual design for our client base. I also designed the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, I iterated upon it in accordance with user-testing.Brands worked on: ACMA, Fair Work Ombudsman, Questacon, Capstone, 1Question, Biometix, BixeLabs, CFCBR, Axway and Seeing Machines.

I was given the opportunity to transfer internally from iProspect to lead the creative team at Isobar. I began my journey as Digital Art Director and quickly grew into the role of Creative Director. My responsibility was to manage and grow the creative team, create strong client relationships, inspire and teach agency teams, develop creative spaces, manage creative profitability and push the boundaries on ideation for our client base and ensuring the work was reinforced by a sound creative strategy.I am very hands-on and not afraid to get stuck into actual creative production work. Type of work varies from the production of online experiences such as, UI, UX, VR, integrated digital campaigns, 3rd party media development to activations and online video content.Brands worked on: Kwesé TV, Opel, Honda, VW Barons, BMW, Afrisam, MTN, Telkom, Huawei, Hisense, Toshiba, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Jo Malone, NIVEA, Eucerin, Hennessy, Tullamore, Belvedere, Stabilo, Mercure Hotels and Table Mountain Cableway.

I joined iProspect to lead the creative team in developing online media, UI, UX, VR and various other digital elements for the agency’s main creative accounts - Mercedes-Benz and Smart Cars. During this time we collaborated with Network BBDO regularly to ensure the above-the-line and digital ideas were integrated. I also had the opportunity to redesign the Smart Car website to mimic the dynamic user offering of the Mercedes-Benz website. The Mercedes-Benz and Smart Cars contract unfortunately came to a close at the end of September, which gave the team the opportunity to move to another agency within the Dentsu Aegis Network - Isobar, to assist with their newly won accounts.Brands worked on: Mercedes-Benz, Smart Cars and Sun Resorts.

When I joined the Gloo@Ogilvy family, I teamed up with the KFC CoLab to facilitate digital creative integration into their core campaigns. In order to meet the client's expectations for fully integrated campaigns, we consistently collaborated with the Social, PR, ATL and BTL teams to conceptualise, develop and execute 360° ideas. We were also tasked to create and develop a fresh, responsive e-commerce website for the KFC brand, to bring their vision for online ordering to life. One of the most exciting projects that I've been part of, was a product launch for KFC Popping Candy Krushers (https://youtu.be/t966qxYzxD0). We developed an interesting way to promote this new product by means of creating a music track inspired by the product intrinsics in collaboration with a South African rapper, named Blayze. We then launched the music track at an activation night, while Blayze preformed in front of social influencers, local celebrities and media to get them to spread awareness. During the night we shot the music video for the track to help further increase brand awareness on digital platforms and local TV music channels, such as Channel O, Trace and MTV Base (https://youtu.be/31ZDOoJcYHE). For our innovation piece, we developed a table that was activated by the weight of a Krusher cup – allowing guests to mix their own version of the music track with the help of conductive ink while also lighting up the buildings of Braamfontein to truly get Jozi Popping!I also had the opportunity to work on some innovative work for VW, while briefly touching base on Comedy Central and MTV. Responsibilities include, but not limited to; conceptualise and develop integrated campaigns, designing of digital elements such as responsive websites, interactive games, online media, UX, UI, while meeting with clients, suppliers and assisting at video/photo shoots.Brands worked on: KFC, VW, Comedy Central and MTV.

After graduating from university, I joined the design team at Gullan&Gullan as Graphic Designer. My duties and responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: designing dynamic artwork for various printed collateral, corporate identities, outdoor, product packaging, point-of-sale, promotional materials websites and social media platforms. As well as working under tight deadlines, planning and overseeing photo shoots with photographers, preparing design layouts for print or coding purposes, selecting appropriate substrates and ensuring sound communication strategies are practiced. The largest project I was part of was a PR marketing campaign for SAB’s Carling Black Label brand – called “Be the Coach”, in collaboration with Ogilvy Cape Town. We developed the concept as a team in-house to help amplify the campaign (http://bit.ly/2q3sbiR). I designed various promotional and communication collateral such as vehicle vinyls, leaflets, posters and online media, while assisting with the photo shoot and casting for the two main brand ambassadors – Benni Be the Coach and Bra Nox, who were deployed to assist consumer understanding of the entry mechanism of the campaign. These two passionate soccer fans took a road trip around South Africa to rally support for the campaign and show like-minded soccer aficionados how to participate. The whole campaign ran from the start of June 2011 to the end of July 2011, with SAB declaring it as one of their most successful marketing campaigns to date.Brands worked on: Nutella, Vespa, TRESemmé, VO5, GynaGuard, TicTac and South African Breweries.

    • International Graphic Design Internship

I had an exceptional internship opportunity at Pulp as a designer. I experienced first hand the following technical aspects of the printing process: case studies; the finish and touch-up process; getting projects print ready; die and die-cut making; packaging and mock-up creation; lithographic plate-making process; foiling, embossing and debossing, UV and creasing processes; while also observing Heidelburg and KBA presses print large quantities on a daily basis. As a designer, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to design a new bar for the global alcoholic beverage brand, Martini, in 3D. The finalised result ensured Martini successfully securing the contract to place their new bar at the 5-Star ‘The Address Hotel’ in Dubai Marina. During my internship I also designed and developed a new Flash based website for Pulp, to showcase their successful campaigns and promote themselves as a competitive advertising agency in the Middle-East. Other clients I’ve worked on during the two-month internship included; Kitab - for which I had to design new T-shirt graphics as part of their souvenir range at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, various elements for Bacardi Rum and a print campaign for SKM - a Gulf leader in air-conditioning and industrial cooling units.
