As the LiDAR research intern, I did research on Integrated power products in silicon and GaN-based solid-state LiDARs focused on Electric and Autonomous vehicles. My responsibilities included Proof of Concept prototype development (HW-SW Co-design) and testing the ST Microelectronics’ GaN-based LiDAR embedded SoCs and performing compute and power benchmarking against the competitive offerings in the market. Designed robust face detection, tracking and recognition system for real time multimodal scenario in association with BARC and BRNS, Govt. of India. The detection technique I developed aimed to improve the detection efficiency of Viola Jones detection framework using appropriate filters. Face tracking estimation was using Kalman Filter and Recognition using template matching and appearance manifolds. Further the end to end system's accuracy was improved by using deep Learning. I worked on the IoT project of conceptually connecting trees to social media. The Project was named the " Gabby Tree ". The project basically aimed at connecting the environmental parameters of the tree via a sensor framework and syncing the data to CloudSQL Database for Analysis and using services such as Twitter API and PUSH to communicate the tweets and Text on the front end. On the hardware front i used Intel Galileo Gen 1 Development Board and Google cloud services for deployment on the software front. I was mentored by Mr. Sitanshu Nanavati, Intel , and Ms. Divya Asokan , Intel ; for my project , which bagged the top spot and the "The Jury Popular Choice Award". Show less
