It was an absolute pleasure to have Aditi in the Polymer Seals Advanced Research and Technology Team for her nine-month placement. The standard of her work was exemplary. She always had a smile, even when things were not going as expected, which wasn't very often. There will always be a place in the team for her if the opportunity arises in the future.

Studied the weldability and optimised the cold drawing process of a novel metal alloy to find an alternative material and production process for precision tubes. Performed thermomechanical treatment of the alloy, characterisation via electron microscopy and mechanical testing. Contributed to the development of a novel aluminium alloy for Selective Laser Melting (additive manufacturing) to achieve defect free structure and better mechanical properties for aerospace applications. Got first hand experience on SLM and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
