  The Ph.D. aims to model the primary damage caused by irradiation and analyze the microstructure's evolution under irradiation with ions and neutrons. Displacement cascades are simulated using empirical interatomic potentials and the molecular dynamics approach, allowing to analyze the evolution of the primary damage created by neutrons and by ions in defects of larger sizes. This will offer a useful tool for reliable Monte Carlo simulations or analytical calculations involving nuclear data. The proposed module will be designed to work in conjunction with the Geant4 Monte Carlo code so as to offer users an alternative to the radioactive decay module currently available in Geant4.
