Business / Continuous Improvement manager in NAM / ONEgas, improving / supporting the processes in petroleum and well engineering as well in production Operations. I was also responsible for the management of the IPSC (integrated production system capacity) of ONEgas. In this period the number of flowing wells in ONEgas was increased from 150 to above 200 by implementing a large number of WRFM activities; e.g. - Well stimulations (damage, scale & salt removals) - Additional / reperforating - Downhole injection of foam - Installation of velocity strings - Lowering of the back pressure (debottlenecking / rewheeling of compressors). - Water shut offs In was also responsible for the reporting and visualization of the Unit Operation Costs per asset, field and facilities. Introduced in NAM & ONEgas CWE (Collaborative working environment) and installed CWE equipment / rooms for the WRFM teams in NAM/ONEgas and on all the manned facilities & locations, onshore as well as offshore (in total 82 installations). • WRFM & Lean Manager and Project Manager Mayak
      • Jan 2008 - Jun 2011

I was the WRFM & Lean manager in SPD. As WRFM manager, I was responsible for the preparation of the SPD annual and long term WRFM plan, tracking of the WRFM activities & Quarterly WRFM KPI reporting to the Centre. In October 2008 and in January 2010 a WRFM health check was carried out, which showed that by January 2010 SPD was complying with Shell WRFM minimum standards. This was achieved by considerable improvements in the WRFM areas of Data acquisition, data management, modelling (i.e. IPSM and reservoir) and opportunity evaluation. Joe Diamond and I have trained in SPD 700 people (80 % of SPD staff) to the WRFM & Lean awareness level. 70 people have attended the Lean Green Belt Course and 18 people have attended the Advanced WRFM course. The Green Belt Course as well as the Advanced WRFM Course were partly given by myself. Since end 2009 I am also a certified Green Belt (Lean), first one in SPD. Also from mid-2009 I lead the SPD Mayak (Data management) project, where SPD with support from SIEP& AERA was replicating AERA "Ways of working" and AERA Data management system & approach. Show less

As Vadelyp Asset Manager I lead a multi-discipline project team, which brought the Vadelyp project using the ORP process within a year from project initiation, through VAR-3, VAR-4, FID and Project Sanction. The project includes the implementation of Smart wells (fields) in at least 38 wells.. Also during the year we obtained after extensive negotiations approval from the authorities for the Technical Schema and the Exploration & Appraisal Programme. The Vadelyp project is the third project of SPD under execution. Also prepared the first Asset Reference Plan of SPD Show less

    • Subsurface team leader Salym (Acting PE manager)
      • Jul 2002 - Dec 2003

Set up and lead a multi-discipline team of +/- 16 engineers to a) carry out a due diligence exercise on KMOC (46% Shell asset in West Siberia after Enterprice acquisition) and b) develop a Field Development Plan (FDP) for West Salym (West Siberia). A commercial attractive and flexible FDP was prepared for West Salym in an extreme tight schedule. New development concepts were incorporated in the FDP; i.e. hydraulic fraccing and water injection for pressure maintenance under fraccing conditions, which made a large contribution to the reduction in well engineering costs. A comprehensive risk & opportunity register (including technical, HSE and non technical risks) was prepared for the entire project. Action plans have been prepared to address and to mitigate the risks and to harvest the opportunities. Technical work passed VAR-3 end Nov.‘02, VAR4 end July 2003 and FID mid September 2003. Since January 03 acting PE manager for Salym. Show less

    • Subsurface team leader Bangestan
      • Oct 1998 - Jul 2002

As subsurface team leader lead for the Bangestan Further Development project (multi-billion investment), co-ordinated and supervised the seismic and integrated subsurface activities of SEPTAR and EPB to produce the basis for surface and well engineering design and the preparation of the associated documentation. Played a key role in well engineering during period of staffing problems in that discipline. Have been the key driver behind the technical proposal developed for the Bangestan project and have managed to reach agreement with NIOC / PEDEC on the proposed technical aspects of the project. Also managed to built excellent relationships with NIOC both in Ahwaz and Tehran. The technical aspects of the project has also successfully gone through the VAR process. Contributed greatly to areas outside my main sphere of interest (e.g. venture set-up activities, preparation of project execution plan, preparation of commercial proposals, preparation for negotiations, preparation of risk register) and ensured that supporting activities such as environmental consultants, HSE management system, HAZID, stakeholder analysis and peer reviews were adequately covered during the project. Technical work on Bangestan was stopped end 2002 due to lack of progress in the negotiations with NIOC on buy-back contract terms & conditions.. Show less

When required assistance to special investigations (avoidable loss, irregularities etc.) were being given. Worked in pairs alternatively playing role of lead and support auditor. The objective was to independently assess the overall quality of the management systems and to identify weaknesses in the framework and application of business controls and agree recommendations for improvement with the auditees. Business exposures to be considered consisted of the risks of not meeting company or business unit objectives and cover financial, commercial, operational, technical, IT and HSE issues. During 1995 up to 1998 have carried out some 35 audits and was lead auditor of twenty audits. Upon special request from SIEP has also carried out some technical and HSE audits for Shell Venezuela and Shell Expro. Show less
