      I am a research and teaching assistant in the Department of African and African diaspora studies, where I am saddled with the responsibility of teaching undergraduate students (100-level and 200 level) the following courses: (i) Introduction to African diaspora history. (ii) History of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. • I also grade assignments, tests, and examination scores. • I supervise during tests and examinations. • I recommend reading materials to students which enable them to read and study ahead and understand the topic discussed in class. • I assist final-year students to proofread, correct and recommend more work of literature to their research thesis. I also travel to attend seminars, public lectures, and conferences organized by the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN), Lagos studies association (LSA), and conferences held in the department and other departments on campus. • I prepare interview questions for the research topic which is later reviewed by Dr. Omon Osiki. • I also, travel to conduct and record oral interviews with individuals who have viable information on the research topic. I filter the information given and analyzed them. • I compare and contrast the information given to know who distorted the information. I also, visit the national archive at Ibadan for more information on the research topic. • I search for published related literature and review this literature before submitting it to Dr. Omon Osiki for further workings. • I am glad to be part of Dr. Omon Osiki’s research as the research work helps my growth in academia and the title of the research is "A socio-economic history of the Ebira settlers in Ose-Oba, Akoko ca 1930-2021.       I taught senior secondary school students of class ss2 and ss3 two subjects which are: History and Government. • I taught my students the history of the rise and fall of pre-colonial kingdoms, such as the old Oyo e Empire, the Benin Kingdom, the Sokoto caliphate in the north, Usman dan Fodio jihad, the Songhai Empire, etc. • I also taught them about the colonial rule in Nigeria, (indirect rule) used by the British. • Also, I taught them about the United Nations (UN), ECOWAS, African Union (AU), etc., and how the functions of the international bodies. • I further enlighten and taught my students how to be historically conscious of their society and learn from the past to avoid committing the same mistakes. • I taught my students about government policies and why these policies are made. I helped my students build their interpretation and analysis skills when communicating with other people. • I also taught and educated my students on what the term government means, the branches of government, and their functions using the present administration as an example in class. • I gave assignments to them, conduct tests during the mid-term session, and also set examination questions. I mark their examination, test, and assignments papers. • I grade their performances in each respective report card at the end of the term and give remarks on what and where they need to improve. • I also prepare them for external examinations by setting mock exams and practicing past questions which will enable them to prepare thoroughly for their West African Examination Council (WAEC), and Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams. • I also invigilate during internal examinations and external examinations (WAEC and NECO) written in the school classrooms and hall.
