  Working as a research associate on the Eyes of Africa: Genetics of Blindness project, I have diverse set of responsibilities not limited to:1. Counselling and interviewing an average of 25 patients weekly on the study and obtain valid informed consent while ensuring privacy and confidentiality of patients’ data.2. Applying my expertise with ophthalmic equipment such as the retinal camera, optical coherence tomography, keratometer, Humphrey field analyser, sonometer, and autorefractor to conduct technical examinations on study participants.3. Using various tools such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Power BI and Python to analyse and interpret patient data to aid in the quest to find a cure for several terminal diseases such as glaucoma, a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide.
