The Samuel Huntington Fund and Cohen Public Service Award supported a yearlong project aimed at reincorporating and strengthening Native Hawaiian environmental and cultural practices on the Hawaiian island of Kaua’i. Major aspects of the project included an environmental law and policy campaign to recognize the rights of nature at a state and county level, coral reef restoration and education, Native Hawaiian cultural and environmental education, and community outreach and presentations. As an Associate, contributed to a textbook chapter on legal standing and its relation to Earth Law for "Emerging Ecocentric Law--A Guide for Practitioners", published and regularly update a global Rights of Nature map, provide remote outreach and editing assistance, and assist in campaign primers and additional work. In May of 2020, promoted to the managerial position of Earth Law Manager and currently working with legislators to recognize nature's rights at a state and local level in Hawaii. Managed environmental wellbeing and sustainability efforts in Pierson College, Yale’s largest residential college with 500 students. Organized projects, events, and campaigns, including initiatives around composting, waste, electricity, travel, and carbon use. Designed, organized, and oversaw a study on the effect of environmental impact information on students’ dietary preferences.
